Andreas Winkelmann

Andreas Winkelmann (* 1968 in Liebenau ) is a German writer and thriller author . He also writes under the pseudonyms Frank Kodiak and Hendrik Winter .

life and work

Even in his childhood, Andreas Winkelmann was fascinated by eerie stories and, inspired by the novels of Stephen King , made his first attempts at writing as a schoolboy. After completing his school education, he studied sports science , then worked for years as a soldier and trainer in the armed forces, worked as a sports teacher, insurance salesman, freelance editor and taxi driver, before finally turning to writing in 2011.

In 2007 his first novel was published in New Europe Publishing Song of the knife-grinder , a mixture of horror novel and thriller, 2013 under the title The singing of the blood in the Rowohlt Verlag was reissued. Since then, Andreas Winkelmann has published other successful thrillers and is now one of the best-known German thriller authors. With Die Liefering , it reached number 1 for the first time on the SPIEGEL bestseller list paperback in June 2019.

Since May 2020 Andreas Winkelmann has been broadcasting the podcast 2 Verbrecher together with Arno Strobel .

Under the pseudonym Hendrik Winter he also wrote The Answer to Perhaps , a novel based on true events and his own experiences and published by Bastei Lübbe in 2019 .

He is married and lives with his family near Bremen .
