Andreas Zakostelsky (born May 26, 1962 in Sydney , Australia ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and board director. He has been chairman of the Association of Pension Funds since 2010. Since April 1, 2016, he has been General Director of the VBV Group, and since October 1, 2018, Zakostelsky has also been Chairman of the Board of VBV - Vorsorgekasse . From October 2013 to November 2017 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Career

Zakostelsky was born in Sydney, where he also attended elementary school from 1969 to 1970. He moved to Graz with his family and attended the Marschall primary school there from 1970 to 1973. In 1973 he then moved to the Bundesrealgymnasium Kepler, where he passed his Matura in 1981 . He then studied law at the University of Graz from 1981 to 1988 . He wrote his diploma thesis on the subject of possibilities and limits of environmental protection criminal law and graduated in 1988 with the academic degree Mag. Jur. from.

Since April 2016 he has been General Director of the VBV Group, and since October 2018 also Chairman of the Board of VBV - Vorsorgekasse AG.

Politics, functions and memberships

Zakostelsky ran for the 2013 National Council election and won a mandate through the federal election proposal. On October 29, 2013, he was sworn in as a MP. During his time as a member of parliament, Zakostelsky was chairman of the finance committee of the National Council and a. also member of the budget, transport and culture committee and ÖVP finance spokesman; from 2015 to the end of 2017 he was ÖVP pension spokesman.

Zakostelsky is active in the Chamber of Commerce. Since May 2010 he has been chairman of the professional association of pension funds in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and since 2015 a member of the branch conference of the banking and insurance division. In the Vienna Economic Chamber he is a member of the administrative committee of the Chamber Anniversary Fund and there a member of the division conference of the banking and insurance division. He is also the chairman of the specialist representation of pension funds at the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. In 2007 he also became a member of the Advisory Board at the Business Forum for Executives and in 2009 he was deputy chairman of the Society for Securing the Future and Pension Plans - Denkwerkstatt St. Lambrecht .

Andreas Zakostelsky has been chairman of the Management Club Steiermark since 2014, and since November 2018 he has also been a member of the board of Dr. Karl Kummer Institute and, since June 2019, also federal chairman of the business forum for executives .

He is the original philistine of the K.Ö.St.V. Markomannia-Eppenstein Graz in the MKV and the K.Ö.HV Carolina in the ÖCV and also Bandphilister of the K.Ö.St.V. Badenia Baden in the MKV, the Ö.kaV Rhaeto-Danubia in the ÖCV, the K.Ö.AV Albertina in the ÖCV and the K.Ö.ML Normannia Graz in the MKV. He is also chairman of the “Steirer in Wien” association.
