Andrew of Caesarea
Andreas von Caesarea (* 563 , † 637 ) was Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia and author of an important commentary on the Apocalypse .
meaning
Andreas von Caesarea wrote a commentary on the Apocalypse, which is important for the textual history of the Apocalypse. This commentary was closely related to the early Christian exegesis and dealt with the commentary of Oecumenius. Andrew's comment must have had a great impact, as it was passed down in numerous manuscripts. It was not until 895 that Arethas of Caesarea wrote a new comment on the apocalypse, but it was heavily based on that of Andrew.
