Andrei Yvesyukov, who began his career as a cross-country skier , achieved his greatest international success at the last international championships held in the sport, the 2008 European Archery Championships in Moscow. In the sprint race he missed the medal ranks as fourth behind Andrei Michailow and Pawel Borodin despite only one mistake, but then won the pursuit race based on it. In the mass start race he was fifth and, together with Andrei Michailow, third best archer of the event.
