Raduschny ( Russian Радужный ) is a city in West Siberia , in the Khanty and Mansi Autonomous Okrug / Ugra ( Russia ) with 43,399 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located north of the Ob in the West Siberian lowlands , about 140 km northeast of Nizhnevartovsk on the Agan River . The climate is continental.
Raduzhny forms a separate city district , the territory from the Rajons is enclosed Nizhnevartovsk.
The city is connected to Nizhnevartovsk by a road and has an airport.
history
Radushny was established in 1973 as a geological and oil workers' settlement in connection with the development of the Varyegan oil field (Варьеганское месторождение) and other deposits in the area. 1985 the place received city rights. The name is derived from the Russian word raduga (радуга) for rainbow .

Culture and sights
Since 2000 there has been a small local museum in Raduschny under the name Ecological-Ethnographic Museum . The museum is mainly dedicated to the culture of the Chanten and Nenets , the indigenous people of the area.

Raduschny is a center of oil production. Here are u. a. the companies Warjeganneftegas (Варьеганнефтегаз), Warjeganneft (Варьеганнефть) and Negusneft (Негуснефть).
