history

The settlement was created in the course of the developing forestry and timber industry in Western Siberia. In order to develop the areas, the construction of the Iwdel - Priobje railway began in the early 1960s . Several work settlements for the developing timber industry were built along the route. With the decision of the Council of Deputies of the Tyumen Oblast of July 18, 1961, a working settlement on the Etja River was named Pionerski. At the same time, the village soviet Pionerski ( Пионерский сельский Совет ) was created, to which Pionerski and the Komsomolski ( Комсомольский ) settlement belonged. The date of the resolution marks the founding year of the present day place.

The rapidly growing settlement received urban-type settlement status on May 16, 1963. In addition to residential buildings, administrative buildings and a hospital, two forestry operations and a brick factory were built in the 1960s.

Since 1968 the settlement has belonged to the newly created Sowetski Rajon. A year later the railway line Ivdel - Priobje (name of the railway station in Pionersky: Aljajewo ( Алябьево )) was completed.
