List of cities in the Khanty and Mansi Autonomous Okrug / Ugra

This is a list of cities and settlements of urban type of autonomous district of Khanty-Mansi / Ugra in Russia .

The following table contains the cities (name in bold ) and urban-type settlements of the Autonomous Okrug, their Russian names, the administrative units to which they belong ( Rajon or urban district ), their population figures according to the census of October 14, 2010, their coats of arms and geographical coordinates as well the years of granting urban-type settlement (SsT) status and town charter, if applicable. There are 16 cities and 24 urban-type settlements in the autonomous district (as of 2019). Five cities emerged from urban-type settlements.

Former cities and urban-type settlements

The only former city on the territory of the Autonomous Okrug is today's Berjosowo in the Rajon named after him, which had city rights as Berjosow from 1782 to 1926, was meanwhile a village (selo) and has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1954.

In addition to the cities listed in the table, which with one exception ( Kogalym ) were urban-type settlements for a few years before they were granted city rights, there was only one other urban settlement that no longer (independent) has this status: Mamontowo ( 60 ° 45 ′  N , 72 ° 45 ′  E ) from 1979 to 1989, when it was incorporated into Pyt-Jach (urban-type settlement since 1982, city from 1990) in the (today's) urban district of the same name.
