Andrei Awanessowitsch Babajew

Andrei Awanessowitsch Babajew , also Andrei Afanassowitsch Babajew and Andrey Babayev , Russian Андрей Аванесович Бабаев (born December 27, 1923 in Msmna , Nagorno-Karabakh ; † October 21, 1964 in Moscow ) was an Azerbaijan - Soviet composer.

The pupil of Kara Karajew and Juri Schaporin wrote two operas ( Arzwaberd , 1957, and Uncle Bagdassar , 1964), a symphony , an overture , a piano concerto, chamber music , songs , film and stage music. His works are significantly influenced by the folk music of the region.
