Andrei Petrovich Kisselev , Russian Андрей Петрович Киселёв , English transcription Andrei Petrovich Kiselyov or Kiselev, (born November 30, 1852 in Mtsensk ; † November 8, 1940 in Leningrad ) was a Russian mathematician and mathematics teacher who was known in Russia for a geometry textbook is.

Kisseljow studied at the University of St. Petersburg with the degree in 1875 and was then a teacher of mathematics, descriptive geometry and mechanics at the Realschule (technical school) in Voronezh (until 1891) and until 1901 at the cadet school in Voronezh. He then withdrew from teaching, but was active again from 1917 (after the October Revolution) as a teacher and in the publication of mathematical school books, which he constantly improved. He regularly attended congresses, went abroad to keep up with math education, and had a large library of math books.

For a long time he wrote widely used mathematics textbooks in school lessons in Russia and the Soviet Union, especially his Geometry from 1892. They stood out from comparable contemporary books because of their consistency, clarity and brevity, as well as their theoretical background.

As a teacher, he stood out early on for his pedagogical skills. He took care of each student individually regardless of their talents. He prepared his teaching material carefully and from an educational point of view, emphasizing clarity and brevity, and used exact definitions. Before his retirement as an active teacher in 1901, he received the Order of Saint Stanislas and Saint Anne.

He was also socially active, giving public lectures on scientific advances and writing popular science essays.

In 1933 he received the Red Labor Banner. He was buried in the Volkovo Cemetery (near Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev ).
