Andrei Wladimirowitsch Bogdanow ( Russian Андрей Владимирович Богданов ; born January 31, 1970 in Moshaisk ) is a Russian politician .

Andrei Bogdanov, son of a Russian and a Tatar , is a graduate economist and has been active in various groups of the democratic opposition in Russia since the early 1990s. From 1990 he was a member of the Democratic Party of Russia . In 1994 he supported the establishment of the infamous financial pyramid MMM by Sergei Mawrodi , in November of the same year he was briefly a member of another party founded by Mawrodi. In 1998 he became deputy chairman of the Russian Democratic Party, and in 2001 he lost that post again when Mikhail Prussak took over the party leadership. In December 2001 he joined the new United Russia party , but was expelled from it in May 2003.

In May 2005, he was finally elected chairman of the Russian Democratic Party. This party put him up as a candidate for the presidential election at the end of 2007 . Although he denies this himself, he has been accused by critics of being a candidate chosen by the Putin government, whose awkward demeanor in public ridicule liberal democratic values ​​and whose electoral program is limited to Russia's future EU and NATO accession Opposition should ultimately split. In November 2008, the Russian Democratic Party joined the Right Cause party , so Bogdanov became a member of that party.

In the Russian parliamentary elections in 2011 Bogdanov stood for the party "Right Cause". He was second on the list.
