Andrei Yusov

Andrej Jussow (* 1982 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian pianist and music college lecturer.

Career

Jussow studied with Sontraud Speidel and chamber music with Michael Uhde and Markus Stange . His other teachers include Evgeni Koroljow and Evgeni Malinin , he received suggestions from Martha Argerich , Lilya Zilberstein and Menahem Pressler . He also attended master classes with Lazar Berman , Halina Czerny-Stefanska, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Rudolf Kehrer .

Jussow has performed as a soloist with various orchestras under the direction of Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, József Horváth , Stefanos Tsialis, Bernhard Epstein , Vladimir Kozhuhar, Alejo Pérez , Sebastian Tewinkel, Gabriel Feltz , Patrick Strub, James Tuggle, Aleksandr Vakoulsky and Jörg-Peter Weigle . He is a guest solo pianist at the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart . In autumn 2011 he performed several times with the Stuttgart State Orchestra. His concert activities have taken the pianist to Germany, France, Holland, Israel, Italy, England, Austria, Poland, Romania, the United States of America and Russia. Jussow also appeared at the Ruhr Piano Festival, LSO St. Lukes Concerts, the international Steinway Festival in Hamburg, the Hamburg Proms Concerts and the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival.

Firm chamber music partners of Jussow are his brother Alex Jussow as well as Roman Simovic, Albrecht Laurent Breuninger, Benedict Klöckner, Aida-Carmen Soanea, Romain Garioud, the delian :: quartett and the Rastrelli cello quartet.

Jussow performed several times with the 1st Piano Concerto in F sharp minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff in the original version from 1891 a. a. to be heard with the Orchester National de Montpellier and with the Stuttgart Philharmonic. He opened the 2009/2010 season together with the delian :: quartett at the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The program included Béla Bartók's piano quintet. In 2015 Yusov was also a guest at the Kremlin Festival in Moscow.

Jussow is a lecturer for piano and piano chamber music at the Karlsruhe University of Music .

Publications

Jussow has recorded two CDs with works by Frédéric Chopin, Joseph Haydn, Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt for the Berlin label CONCENTUS RECORDS.

  • In 2009 he received the European Prize for Young Artists and received the award from the Baden Cultural Fund.
