Andrew Gelman
Andrew Gelman is a professor of statistics and political science and director of an applied statistics research center at Columbia University .
In his research, Gelman has dealt with questions on a wide variety of topics, such as survey methods, toxicology and medical imaging . He is co-author of a textbook on Bayesian data analysis and writes in his own blog about questions of the application of statistics in the social sciences.
For his scientific work Gelman has received numerous awards, including the Award for Best Article Published the journal American Political Science Review , and three times the Outstanding Statistical Application Award of the American Statistical Association . He is an elected fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the American Statistical Association. In 2020 Gelman was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
