history

The OMNI Group, based in Porto Salvo ( Portugal ) near Lisbon , was founded in 1988 as a small helicopter transport company. In the 1990s, OMNI became known through the activities of emergency medical care in Portugal and also started flight operations with fixed-wing aircraft. Today Omni is also active in France , Nigeria , United Arab Emirates and Brazil .

In 2001, Omni acquired two Beechcraft 1900 aircraft , and in 2004 two Saab 2000s , which were leased to the Portuguese airline Portugalia on a long-term basis and were used on their regional route network. The company began at the same time as the start of charter flights for tour operators and VIP charter flights . At the same time, OMNI expanded its helicopter operations in Brazil. The company OMNI International currently (2014) operates air traffic operator certificates for five of its companies.

The Omni Group has a flight school, a maintenance company and AOC in Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde and is active in almost all areas of aviation and employs more than 800 people.
