Orbest is a Portuguese airline based in Lisbon . It is based at Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport and operates scheduled flights to international destinations from there. The airline is also active in charter flights .
history
Orbest was founded in 2007 by the Spanish tourism group Orizonia . It was a subsidiary of the Spanish Orbest Orizonia Airlines until Orizonia went bankrupt in February 2013 and was then taken over by Grupo Barceló . In the course of the bankruptcy, Orbest also took over the remaining aircraft, two Airbus A320-200s and one Airbus A330-300, Orbest Orizonia Airlines, which then ceased operations. Part of the fleet later switched to the newly founded Spanish subsidiary Evelop Airlines .
In addition to scheduled flights and flights for its own tour operators, Orbest also operates ad hoc charter flights for other airlines and tourism companies.
Destinations
Orbest serves destinations in the Mediterranean region from Lisbon and Porto . Long-haul flights to Cancun and Punta Cana are also operated from their home airport in Lisbon .
