Andrew Marshall (born August 24, 1973 in East Dereham , England ) is an English professional golfer .

Career

He became a professional golfer in 1995 and - after a few unsuccessful attempts at the Tour School - initially worked as a club professional . In 2001 Marshall sold £ 500 stock to club members to help fund his career as a tournament player. After earning more than £ 75,000 in prize money in his first year on the Challenge Tour , he was able to cash out his co-owners for a profit. With fourth place in the annual ranking of this second-tier tournament series, Marshall qualified for the European Tour from the 2002 season and was able to assert himself there for several seasons. He achieved his best placement to date in June 2006 with a second place at the prestigious Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles , which brought him prize money of around € 178,000. After 2007, however, Marshall missed qualifying for the European Tour and has been back on the Challenge Tour ever since.
