Andrius Bielskis

Andrius Bielskis (* 1973 in Klaipėda ) is a Lithuanian philosopher and university professor .

Life

Bielskis grew up in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda. In 1996 he completed a bachelor's degree in political science at Klaipėdos universitetas , in 1999 a master's degree in political philosophy at the University of York, and in 2004 a doctorate in political philosophy at the University of Warwick . He lived in Great Britain for eight years . Bielskis has taught political theory and philosophy at the University of Warwick, Aston University in Birmingham , London Metropolitan University , the Catholic University of Eichstätt and the Vilniaus universitetas . From 2004 he taught as a lecturer, from 2005 to June 2007 as a lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Klaipėdos universitetas. Since 2006 he has been living in Vilnius , Lithuania. From 2006 to 2009 he taught political theory at the ISM University of Management and Economics . Since May 2009 he has been teaching as a professor at the Mykolo Romerio universitetas .

Bielskis is director of VšĮ DEMOS kritinės minties institutas . From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Senate and from 2008 to 2009 the board of directors of the ISM University of Management and Economics .
