Andrzej Jasiński

Andrzej Jasiński (born October 23, 1936 in Czestochowa ) is a Polish pianist .

Life

Jasiński studied with Władysława Markiewiczówna (1900–1982) in Katowice and Magda Tagliaferro in Paris . He won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Barcelona . Since then he has developed a lively concert activity and pedagogical work at the Katowice Music Academy . He was chairman of the jury of the 14th, 15th and 16th International Chopin Competitions in Warsaw.

From 1979 to 1982 he was a professor at the Stuttgart University of Music . In 2007 he received an honorary doctorate from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy (today Fryderyk Chopin University of Music ) in Warsaw. His most famous student is Krystian Zimerman .

Andrzej Jasiński gives master classes at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival .
