Andrzej Rzońca (born October 30, 1977 in Trzyniec ) is a Polish economist , university professor and was a member of the Council for Monetary Policy from 2010 to 2016 ( Polish Rada Polityki Pieniężnej ).

Life

In 2001 Rzońca graduated from Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie and received her doctorate in 2005 on the basis of the dissertation “Non-Keynesian Effects of a Restrictive Fiscal Policy: Theory and Studies in Selected Central European Countries”. At the University of Economics and Business, he has also been a research assistant at the chair for international comparative studies since 2003 and, from 2005, an adjunct . In 2015 Rzońca received his habilitation based on the treatise “Crisis of Central Banks. Consequences of the low interest rate policy ”. In 2007, he completed his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota .

From 1998 to 2000 he was an intern at the side of Finance Minister Leszek Balcerowicz and later at the Center for Social and Economic Analysis (Polish: Centrum Analiz Społeczno-Ekonomicznych ). In addition, between 2004 and 2007, Rzońca was an advisor to the Chairman of the National Bank of Poland . He also worked in the European Central Bank and the World Bank . In 2007, Rzońca acted as vice-chairman of the Citizens' Forum for Development (Polish: Forum Obywatelskiego Rozwoju ). In addition, he found himself on the supervisory boards of various trading companies and was chairman of the board of the state-owned gaming company Totalizator Sportowy . Rzońca also published scientific publications in specialist magazines and daily newspapers.

On January 13, 2010 he was elected to the Monetary Policy Council (Polish Rada Polityki Pieniężnej ) on the initiative of members of the Civic Platform of the Senate for a six-year term . In April 2016, Rzońca was elected chairman of the Association of Polish Economists ( Towarzystwo Ekonomistów Polskich ). He resigned from his position the following year after the citizens' platform made him the party's chief economist.
