Andrzej Wójtowicz

Andrzej Wójtowicz (* 1940 ) is a Polish Lutheran theologian and director of the Polish Ecumenical Council .

Act

As a representative for the ecumenical cooperation of the churches, he is active in the creation of talks and agreements between the various denominations of the country, especially between the Catholic Church and the smaller Orthodox and Protestant denominations . At the same time, he represents the non-Catholic churches and communities united in the council vis-à-vis the worldwide church federations.

In 2006, Wójtowicz declared his support for the project of an " Association for International Understanding with Central, Southern and Eastern Europe eV ", which wants to make known to the German population the crimes committed against Polish civilians by the German armed forces during the Second World War .

Andrzej Wójtowicz was a member of the Christian Peace Conference and participant in the IV All-Christian Peace Assembly in Prague in 1971 .
