Andy Kim (* 5. December 1946 as Andrew Youakim in Montreal , Canada ) is a Canadian singer and composer.

Life & work

Together with producer Jeff Barry , he had a number of hits in the late 1960s to early 1970s, including the million-seller Sugar, Sugar by the Archies . In 1969 he had his first great success as a singer with his version of the Ronettes hit Baby, I Love You from 1963.

In 1974 he founded his own label with his brother Joel . The first release was the self-penned Rock Me Gently , which quickly became his second super hit. After that, Kim was not heard from for nine years until he reappeared in 1983 under the new stage name Barron Longfellow . However, he could not build on the successes of the past and largely withdrew from the active music business.
