Andy LaPlegua (born September 15, 1975 in Fredrikstad , Norway ; real name Ole Anders Olsen ) is the founder and singer of the future pop band Icon of Coil .

Act

Andy LaPlegua is active in three projects, Combichrist (formerly DRIVE), Panzer AG and (DJ) Scandy. Of these, Icon of Coil and Combichrist reached the DAC . With Combichrist he was in the top 5 of the American Billboard Dance Charts.

He was part of various scenes in Norway. Andy LaPlegua experimented with hip-hop in the Detroit techno band LAW, with industrial with Devils Into Crime (DIC) and with punk in the band My Right Choice (MRC), in which he was active as a singer and with which he played released an EP called Fleshfire . He also worked as a temporary and later as lead singer of the metal group Lash Out. He was also interested in trance and club music, which is why he was also active in the Plastic Life and Sector9 projects.

Icon of Coil was founded in 1997 and initially created as a solo project by LaPlegua. He invited Sebastian Komor, a former bandmate, to help him perform live. After various public appearances and the release of the first Icon-of-Coil album Shallow Nation , Komor became a permanent member.

The band Combichrist officially started in 2003. They were formed as a more aggressive alternative to Icon of Coil. Panzer AG was founded in 2004. LaPlegua combines the danceability of Icon of Coil with the hard beats of Combichrist. His fourth, more techno- oriented project is (DJ) Scandy.

Private life

Andy LaPlegua was married to the erotic model Kellie LaPlegua. In March 2016 he married the German actress Sophia Thomalla . In May 2017, Thomalla announced the divorce.
