George Andrew "Andy" McCluskey (born June 24, 1959 in Heswall , Wirral ) is a British musician , songwriter and record producer .

Andy McCluskey is one of the founders as well as the singer and bassist of the band Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark (also known under the abbreviations OMD or OMD), which was founded in 1978. The band broke up in 1989, McCluskey retained the naming rights and continued to run the band alone from 1990. Since 2007 he has been touring again with OMD in the original line-up with co-founder Paul Humphreys .
Atomic kitten

McCluskey founded the girl group Atomic Kitten in 1998 and worked as a songwriter and producer for many of the band's songs until 2002. Their first number one hit Whole Again was written by him and was nominated for the Ivor Novello Award in 2002 in the International Hit of the Year category.
