Andrew "Andy" Mulligan (* in London ) is a British author .

Life

Mulligan grew up in South London . He graduated from Oxford University . After working as a theater director for over 10 years, he began training as a teacher after a trip to Asia. He later taught English as an English teacher in India , Brazil , the Philippines and the United Kingdom.

In 2009 the first part of his Ribblestrop trilogy was published. The second part, Return to Ribblestrop , was awarded the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize in 2011 . The last part Ribblestrop Forever followed in 2012 .

His novel Trash was named one of the Top Ten Best Fiction for Young Adults in 2011 and was also JuBu Book of the Month in December 2011 . The film adaptation Trash was directed in 2014 by director Stephen Daldry .

Mulligan lives in London and Manila.
