Anellini ( German  small rings ) are an Italian type of pasta.

The Anellini are a scaled-down form of the Anelli , but are only over a quarter of the size. Anellini are ring-shaped pasta. They resemble a slice of penne with a smooth surface. The anellini is used almost exclusively as a soup . The cooking time is six to eight minutes. The name Anellini comes from Italian and is the diminutive of Anelli, which means something like rings .
