Gabriel Machemer

Gabriel Machemer (born October 29, 1977 in Wolfen ) is a German writer and artist .

Gabriel Machemer grew up in Wolfen . In 1997 he passed his Abitur at the Landes-Kunst-Gymnasium Burg Wettin. He studied painting and German in Halle and graduated with a diploma in 2005. Since 1998 he has been running the Chicken Manhattan art and action space. Between 1999 and 2005 he wrote numerous audio stories for the independent Radio Corax. He is known and a. through thousands of pen drawings, the ten thousand rabbits, the 1200 donkeys, the 1400 portraits of orphans or the geese that were presented to donors as advertising figures for the construction of the geese fountain in Halle Kröllwitz. In 2008 he bought the former VEB Neontechnik Werke in Halle and rents rooms there to artists , musicians and writers. In 2010 he was accepted into the support group of writers in Saxony-Anhalt . Since 2002 he has been organizing the meetings of Halle's poets' circle on a voluntary basis . He has had a daughter with the artist Donata Hillger since 2019.
