Wallace & Gromit in Project Zoo is a computer game developed by Frontier Developments based on the characters from the animated films Wallace & Gromit produced by Aardman Animations . It was published in 2003 by BAM! Entertainment .

action

Wallace and his dog Gromit want to celebrate the birthday of Archie , a little polar bear they have adopted, on October 1st . So they go to the zoo where Archie lives. The planned birthday party fell through, however, because the zoo is closed unscheduled. Quickly recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Wallace and Gromit break into the zoo with the help of a giant wooden penguin and discover Feathers McGraw , a criminal but highly intelligent penguin . McGraw has a plan to turn the zoo into a diamond mine. In order to be able to do all the work in the mine, McGraw wants to force all adult animals of the zoo to work in the mine. For this reason, he kidnaps the babies of all animals in order to blackmail the parents of the babies so that they do all the difficult work in the diamond mine for him. Now it's up to Wallace and Gromit to free the animals' babies and Archie to put a stop to Feathers McGraw .

Gameplay

The player actively controls only Gromit , but he is always accompanied by Wallace , who repairs or reassembles various things. For this reason, the player has to collect nuts and bolts, of which Wallace needs a certain number to get broken things going again. There are also ten tools hidden in each level that need to be found. Wallace uses these to build a wide variety of things, mainly weapons. During the course of the game, Gromit carries various pieces of equipment with him, such as the banana rifle , the porridge cannon , the beet thrower , a torch or a fire extinguisher . Perfectly equipped, Wallace and Gromit have to work their way through a deep jungle , a gloomy mine, a lava world, an eerie factory, an ice world and a diamond machine, which, however, presents itself as a large underground environment to save the babies. There are three babies in each level that need to be rescued. Last but not least, Wallace and Gromit have to free Archie from McGraw's clutches . Once all of this is done, you can go to the final showdown with Feathers McGraw yourself.

By collecting golden coins, you can unlock film clips that enable the player to unlock excerpts from the film Die Techno-Hose , a short film and a making-of for the game. There are 30 coins in the first five worlds and none in the last.
