Ange François
Ange François (born January 2, 1800 in Brussels ; † 1867 there ) was a Belgian history, genre and animal painter.
Ange François, born as the son of the history painter Pierre Joseph Célestin François (1759–1851), initially worked in his father's studio. He studied at the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles
After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance history, genre and animal painter in Brussels. Many of his works are believed to have been lost; only lithographic copies are available.
In the later years his style gradually developed into an intimism , which was inspired in the attention to detail by the Dutch painting of the 17th century.
