Angel Moraes

Angel Moraes (born August 7, 1965 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American DJ , remixer and music producer . In the mid-1990s he was one of the most prominent and productive members of his guild.

biography

Before he started performing as a club DJ in the mid-1980s, Moraes worked as a truck driver. In the early 1990s he made a name for himself in New York's most popular clubs, including Sound Factory.

His first single , Release Yourself , was released in 1993. With Welcome to the Factory , sung by Sally Cortes, Moraes had a top 10 hit on the Billboard dance charts in 1996 . In the same year Time to Get Down , sung by Cortes and Octavia Lambertis, placed there at number 36. At the end of the year Heaven Knows / Deep Deep Down made it into the British charts and reached number 72. A remix of Moraes' 1994 track I Like It , sung by Octavia Lambertis, ranked 70th in the UK in 1997. The last place in the UK charts was Turn It Up, sung by Latrice Verrett in 2002 .

From the mid-1990s, Moraes released various DJ mixes for various record companies , including his self-founded label Hot 'n' Spycy. He made remixes for labels like London Records , Subversive and Tribal Records as well as for artists like Pet Shop Boys , kd lang and Funky Green Dogs . Moraes is also a co-founder of the Stereo Club in Montreal , Canada .

19 years after Time to Get Down , Rise Above the Game , sung by Neysa Malone, was another Moraes track in the Billboard Dance Charts in April 2015 , where it climbed to number 5. The title was already available for download a year earlier available.
