Angele (Attica)
Angele ( Greek Ἀγγελή ) was the name of an Attic demos of the Phyle Pandionis in antiquity . It was between Markopoulos and Porto Rafti in the area that is still called Angelisi today, by the church of Agia Triada. A tombstone of Epichares and Ergochares was found nearby, which also bears the place name and confirms the location. A herm was found near the church of Agia Triada , which Herodes Atticus donated for Polydeukion . After the Kleisthenian reforms, Angele sent two or three representatives to the council of the 500 and later four after the conquest and reorganization of Attica by Demetrios I Poliorketes (307/6 BC).
