Kozue Andō ( Japanese 安藤 梢 , Andō Kozue ; born July 9, 1982 in Utsunomiya ) is a Japanese soccer player .
Career
Thanks to her father, she started playing soccer at a young age. In elementary school she already had her first small successes with several victories in school tournaments. She also played football in city clubs as a high school student and later as a student in Utsunomiya . With the U-18 team she took part in the Adidas Cup in the USA . In 1999 she was promoted to the senior team and at the age of 17 took part in the 1999 World Cup in the United States , where she was used in a game. In 2002 she moved to the Saitama Reinas club in the Japanese L. League. In 2003 she played in the national league first L. League Division after her team, the Saitama Reinas, had won the championship. In 2005 Kozue Ando was signed to one of the league's top teams, the Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies. With this team she won second place in the championship of the L. League Division 1 in 2006.
The offensive midfielder won silver with the national team at the Asian Games in Qatar in 2006 after they lost to North Korea on December 13, 2006 in Doha at the Qatar Sports Club Stadium 2-4 after penalties. In 2007 she was eliminated with the national team in the group matches of the World Cup. In 2008 she won the East Asian Championship with the national team and took bronze at the Asian Championship. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 they played for bronze against Germany, but lost 2-0. At the 2010 Asian women's soccer championship , she also took third place with Japan and, together with three other players, was the top scorer with three goals each. She completed all six games for Japan at the 6th Women's World Cup in 2011 in Germany, where Japan became world champions for the first time.
From 2010, after a change of club from the Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies in Germany, she played for FCR Duisburg in the 1st Bundesliga. With Duisburg she reached the semi-finals of the 2009/10 UEFA Women's Champions League , in which they were eliminated against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . On January 31, 2013 it was announced that she was moving to 1. FFC Frankfurt .
On April 1, 2012, she made her 100th international match in a 1-1 draw against the USA .
Andō was also part of the Japanese squad for the London Olympics . But she was only in the starting line-up in the 0-0 win against South Africa in the preliminary round. She was substituted on in four other games, but not in the final.
Andō was also part of the Japanese squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada. In the first game against Switzerland , she suffered a fracture of her left ankle in an action by the Swiss goalkeeper that was punished as a foul, which ended the World Cup prematurely for her. The Japanese team captain Aya Miyama converted the penalty given as a reaction to the foul to the 1-0 winner and thus the first victory against Switzerland. In the summer of 2015, Andō left Frankfurt when her contract expired and was initially without a club for 4 months before signing with SGS Essen on October 21, 2015 . Andō did not renew her expiring contract in Essen in the summer of 2017 and returned to Japan .
