Angelika Bode

Angelika Bode (born September 23, 1954 ) is a German politician (non-party). From 2005 to 2011 she was the full-time mayor of the Lower Saxony district town of Winsen (Luhe) .

Life

Angelika Bode is a trained lawyer. For more than eleven years she was the city director of Winsen (Luhe). In the first direct election of a full-time mayor in Winsen on September 12, 2004, she stood as a candidate for the CDU and was supported by the SPD and FDP . The turnout was only 33.61 percent. Angelika Bode received 51.77 percent of the valid votes and prevailed against the candidate of the Free Voting Association Winsen Oliver Berten, who received 48.23 percent of the valid votes. She did not take office until July 1, 2005 as the successor to the honorary mayor Bodo Beckedorf (CDU), as her term of office as city director lasted until June 30, 2005. She did not run for the mayoral election in 2011. Her successor is André Wiese (CDU), a former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .
