André Wiese (born May 3, 1975 in Winsen (Luhe) ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and mayor of the city of Winsen (Luhe).

Life

After graduating from high school in Winsen in 1994 and then doing basic military service in Rotenburg (Wümme) and Munster (1994/95), Wiese completed a degree in administration in Hanover. In addition, he worked intensively in local politics, both as chairman of the CDU Winsen (since 2002) and deputy district chairman of the CDU Harburg-Land (since 2001) and since 1996 as a member of the council of the city of Winsen (Luhe); from 2006 to 2011 he was deputy mayor. In 2011, Wiese was elected mayor of the city of Winsen as successor to Angelika Bode (independent) with 47.1% of the vote .

From 2003 to 2011 Wiese was a directly elected member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the constituency of Winsen . In the state elections in 2003 he received 58.9% of the valid first votes cast; In 2008 it was 47.5%. After the election as mayor, Wiese renounced his state parliament mandate in favor of Reinhard Hegewald .

On May 26, 2019, Wiese was re-elected mayor of the district town of Winsen (Luhe) with a majority of 54.7% and prevailed against the challenger Susanne Quantity .

Wiese is married and has three children.
