Susanne Menge (born February 11, 1960 in Bad Zwischenahn ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2013 to 2017 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . After Belit Onay was elected Lord Mayor of Hanover , after which Onay resigned his state parliament mandate, she has been a member of the state parliament again since November 19, 2019.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979 at the Bad Zwischenahn grammar school, Susanne Menge studied politics / economics and sport for teaching at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg until 1986 . Until she moved into the state parliament, she was a teacher at the Oldenburg Graf-Anton-Günther School .

Susanne Menge has been a member of the Greens since 1984. From 1986 to 1992 she was a member of the Bad Zwischenahn local council , from 1991 to 1994 she was a member of the district council of the Ammerland district . From 2001 to 2006 and since 2011 she has been a member of the Oldenburg City Council (Oldenburg) . From 2011 to 2013 she was honorary mayor of the city of Oldenburg. In the state elections in 2013 , Susanne Quantity was elected to the state parliament over position 17 on the state list. She also took part in the Oldenburg-Mitte / Süd constituency , which Ulf Prange ( SPD ) won. In the state elections in 2017 , Quantity was 13th on the state list. However, since the Greens only got twelve seats, Susanne Menge left the state parliament and came first on the list of successors. She moved up on November 19, 2019 for Belit Onay in the state parliament.

Quantity ran for the office of full-time mayor in the district town of Winsen (Luhe) on May 25, 2019 , combined with the function of head of the city administration. It was supported by Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and the SPD. For this candidacy, crowd moved from Oldenburg- Donnerschwee to Winsen. She achieved a share of the vote of 45.3% and had to admit defeat to her competitor André Wiese .

Susanne Menge is divorced and has three grown children.
