The Angiostrongylidae (from ancient Greek angeion vessel and strongylos round) are a family of parasitic roundworms. They attack marsupials , predators , insectivores and rodents . They often have a snail as an intermediate host, only the first larva of Andersonstrongylus captivensis (lungworm in skunks) already attacks the definitive host. The representatives are characterized by a typical bursa and a posterior vulva .
