Anil Chattopadhyay
Anil Chattopadhyay ( Bengali : অনিল চট্টোপাধ্যায় Anil Caṭṭopādhyāẏ ; * October 25, 1929 in Calcutta ; † March 17, 1996 there ; English mostly shortened to Anil Chatterjee ) was an Indian actor of the Bengali film .
Life
He made his film debut in 1952 in Ritwik Ghatak's first work Nagarik ; the film only premiered in 1977. Chattopadhyay has also starred in numerous films by Bengali directors Satyajit Ray , Ajoy Kar and Tapan Sinha . In the 1980s he withdrew from film work and was politically active. He was elected to the West Bengal state parliament in 1991 .
