Anja Brinker

Anja Brinker (born January 18, 1991 in Melle ) is a German gymnast .

Anja Brinker is a student and lives in Seelze-Lathwehren . She is trained by Oleg Tschekmarev, previously Dieter Koch, and starts for TV Herkenrath . First she trained in her home town of Melle, later until it was closed at the performance center in Hanover and since then at the federal performance center in Bergisch Gladbach , where she temporarily lived in the boarding school. In 2004 Brinker won gold at the German junior championships on uneven bars and bronze in the all-around competition. In the following year she won the all-around competition and the jump at the Junior DM, was second on the floor and third on the uneven bars. At the European Junior Championships in 2006, she won bronze with the German team.

In 2007 she celebrated her breakthrough in her first year with women. At the German Championships she won gold on the uneven bars and silver on the floor and all-around. At the World Cup in Ghent she was fourth on the uneven bars, at the 2007 European Championship in Amsterdam, seventh on the uneven bars and tenth in the all- around competition. The World Championships in Stuttgart brought 18th place in the all-around and tenth place with the team. In 2008 Brinker qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing . At the European Championships in Milan in 2009 , she managed to win the bronze medal on the uneven bars, in the all-around event she finished eighth.

With a height of 1.52 meters, the sportswoman is predestined for complicated jumps and difficult acrobatic parts with the special uneven bars.
