Anjuta is a free integrated development environment (IDE) for the Gnome desktop. The project was initiated in 1999 by the Indian Naba Kumar, who named it after his girlfriend. It can be seen as a counterpart to the KDE project KDevelop .
Anjuta offers, among other things:
- Project management and build management for C and C ++
- Java , JavaScript , Python and Vala are limited and supported without project management
- Wizards for generating GTK + and Gnome applications
- Functions , classes , structures, etc. can be viewed quickly using a symbol browser
- Project generation wizard
- automatic creation of Makefiles
- Editor with syntax highlighting , automatic source text formatting and completion , using Scintilla or from version 2.2 also using the GtkSourceView widget
- Integrated debugger based on the GNU Debugger
- Support of plug-ins
- GTK GUI designer based on Glade
Versioning
With version 2.5.90 the last one appeared according to this numbering system. Then the version numbers were adapted to those of the Gnome project and increased to 2.23.91 with the release of the next version.
