Ann Langley

Ann Langley , also known as Ann Langley-Laporte, is a Canadian economist. She is currently professor in the Department of Management at the École des hautes études commerciales in Montreal , Canada. She also holds visiting professorships at the Norwegian Business School in Bergen and the University of Montreal .

Career

Langley studied operational research at the University of Lancaster in Great Britain and graduated with a Master of Arts . Langley has worked as a consultant and analyst in private companies and public bodies such as the National Institute for Health Research. She continued her studies and received her PhD in Administration from HEC Montreal in 1987.

Langley is co-editor of the science magazine Strategic Organization and chief editor of Organization Studies magazine . She is a member of the board of the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS).

Research interests

According to the HEC, Langley is interested in strategy, management in the healthcare sector, and research methodology. The Norwegian Business School , Bergen recognizes her achievements in researching strategic change processes, in particular the decision-making mechanisms in pluralistic organizations.

honors and awards

In 2010 Langley was appointed to the Royal Society of Canada . In 2011 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Norwegian Business School for the valuable cooperation with the business administration faculties.
