Papers submitted are checked for suitability for the journal, approx. 44% are rejected immediately because they do not fit the format of the journal or contradict the set goals. The others will be examined in a first round of reviews. Approx. 2/3 of the papers tested are screened out in this round. In a second round, almost half of the papers are again excluded, so that only around 11% of the papers submitted are ultimately published. These papers are generally released within the next six months.
