Work

Courpasson deals extensively with power in organizations and the limits that are placed on such power. He emphasizes the importance of the topic and, at the same time, the lack of robust research despite all the empirical data in the area. This lack of consideration leads to the topic being neglected in studies. Courpasson tries to take this into account by dealing with the resistance to power behavior, the "disobedience" and the rebellion against prevailing conditions ( When Managers rebel ), whereby Courpasson pays special attention to the reasons for the rebellion and the possibilities of sets positive results for business and rebel. According to this concept, middle management employees rebel because the organizations exert too much influence on the private life, beliefs or values of the employees. But he also concludes that conflicts of this kind do not have to lead to the end of a career and that there can be positive results for companies and employees.
