Ann Njogu (* 20th century in Kenya ) is a Kenyan women's rights activist . In 2010 she was director of the Center for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW), which documented sexual and gender-based violence after the Kenyan parliamentary elections in December 2007 , among other things . Life

In addition to her work on sexual and gender-based violence, Njogu was co-chair of the Multisectoral Committee on Constitutional Reform, co-chair of the Joint Constitutional Reform Dialogue Forum and Bomas delegate to the National Constitutional Reform Conference. In 2007, she was attacked and arrested by the state security forces for demanding that MPs check her salaries, which were very high despite the poverty in Kenya. She and the others arrested submitted a constitutional reference popularly known as "Ann Njogu and Others Against the State" which managed to limit the time a Kenyan citizen could be held in custody to 24 hours . In 2008 she co-hosted the Civil Society Congress, which campaigned for policy improvements after the violence that followed the Kenyan elections in December 2007.

In 2008 she was beaten and sexually assaulted by police when she and others were arrested on suspicion that corruption may have occurred in the sale of the Grand Regency Hotel .

In 2012, she and her son were charged with assaulting their father, but were acquitted in 2013.
