Anna Pepe (* 2003 in La Spezia ), known as ANNA , is an Italian rapper .

Career

Pepe's father Christian is a soul - and Hip-Hop - DJ , as a child she learned piano , their biggest musical inspiration was his own, but Nicki Minaj . She made her debut as a rapper in 2018 with a freestyle on Instagram and then worked with the rapper Anis. In 2019 she released the song Baby . The song Bando followed in December 2019, but was initially blocked on Spotify due to copyright infringement (the beat was from French producer Martin "Soulker" Purcell). At the beginning of 2020, the rapper was discovered by the radio station m2o and quickly received a recording contract with Universal . The re-release of Bando went viral mostly via TikTok , found its way onto mainstream radio and eventually topped the Italian singles chart . A remix of the song with the participation of the rappers MadMan and Gemitaiz as well as another with the German rapper Maxwell , who also reached the German single charts, was later released .
