Anna Carina Eichhorn (* 1972 in Frankfurt ) has a doctorate in biochemistry and is the CEO of humatrix AG in Frankfurt am Main .

Anna Carina Eichhorn is the daughter of the photo designer Gotthart A. Eichhorn (* 1941) and the painter Johanna K. Eichhorn , b. Philipp (* 1945). From 1992 to 1993 she completed the basic course in chemistry and from 1993 to 1995 the basic course in biology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . After completing an intermediate course in biochemistry in 1995 , she began her main course in biochemistry in 1996, which she successfully completed in 1998 after completing her diploma thesis with Jürgen Bereiter-Hahn at the Institute for Kinematic Cell Research at Goethe University with a diploma in biochemistry.
From 1999 to 2003 she did her doctorate with Bernd Ludwig at the Institute for Molecular Genetics at Goethe University. During her doctorate, she was a scholarship holder from 1999 to 2000 at the Graduate School “Protein Structure, Dynamics and Function” at Goethe University. From 2000 to 2002 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Molecular Genetics at Goethe University.
In 2001 she founded humatrix AG with four fellow students and became its scientific director (CTO). She has been the sole director of the company since March 1, 2012, after R-Biopharm acquired a majority stake in humatrix AG in autumn 2011.
Humatrix AG is a biotechnology company specializing in the analysis of human DNA. In the field of private parentage testing, humatrix has been one of the leading companies for years and has set quality standards. Another focus of activity is personalized medicine. Here humatrix offers preventive DNA diagnostics to improve the quality of life nationwide in cooperation with resident physicians and develops test systems to avoid ineffectiveness and side effects in drug therapies.
In November 2014 Anna Carina Eichhorn was also elected to the board of the House of Pharma & Healthcare, a platform for researchers from companies and universities who work in individualized medicine and biotechnology.
