Anna David (born December 2, 1984 in Aarhus , Denmark ) is a Danish soul and R&B singer. She had her greatest successes in Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries. Their single "Fuck Dig" went platinum in Denmark in 2005 and was produced and sold in Germany under the title "Fick Dich".

biography

David's love for music was evident at a young age. At eight she started playing the piano and sang in the choir. Two years later she got her first drum set. In the following years she played guitar in a band with her older sister Inez Bjørg David and composed several songs with her. The planning for a professional show for the band came to nothing. While David's sister became an actress, Anna David stayed true to music.

At the age of thirteen she came into contact with several music producers through her second sister Marika, who were enthusiastic about her voice. A short time later, the first recordings were made in a professional studio. In parallel to her musical work, she played in Lars von Trier's film Dancer in the Dark as "Drummer Girl Betty". David made her debut in 2000 with her single PYB (Pretty Young Boy) .

In 2003, she separated from her previous producers because she wanted to go in a different direction musically. After a long and unsuccessful search for a new producer for her songs, she met the producer duo nOOb (Erik Fryland & Casper Lindstad) in 2004 , who finally helped her break through in 2005 with the production of the single "Fuck dig". In cooperation with nOOb, her debut album "Anna David" was released in 2005, which was awarded gold in Denmark.

In 2007 Anna David's second album was released with the title "2" .

The third album Tættere På was released in 2009 on their own label ADeluxe Music in collaboration with their long-term partner Playground Music. According to an interview in the Danish music magazine Gaffa , Anna David was executive producer for the first time. She wrote all the songs for this album herself, but in collaboration with others. The third album deals with themes such as joy, pain, longing, eroticism and passion.

In 2010 Anna David's fourth studio album was released under the title Music is taking over . It is their first album that is sung entirely in English.

Anna David has been nominated eight times at the Danish Music Awards 2006, Zulu Awards 2005, P3 Guld 2006 and Deejay Awards 2006. She received the Zulu Award for best singer in 2005. The single "Fuck dig" went platinum and received the Payload Award for "Fuck dig" as the most downloaded song in 2005.

Anna David celebrated her greatest successes especially in Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries, but her single F *** Dich also sold well in Germany.

The single "Fuck dig" / "Fick dich"

The song Fuck dig was number one on the singles charts in Denmark for twelve weeks. In October 2006, a German-language version was published under the title Fick Dich, which was noted in both Germany and Austria in the single charts. The song was also recorded in English as Fuck you.

The original version "Fuck dig" was placed in the Danish charts for twelve weeks. In Germany, the press shop was bothered by the title and the line in the chorus . Anna David's label SonyBMG was therefore looking for another pressing plant. As a comment came from SonyBMG that the reaction of the pressing plant, which did not want to produce the CD, was incomprehensible, because the single had been released in Denmark and nobody was bothered by it. SonyBMG also pointed out the public dispute between Eamon and Frankee . The song seems less aggressive towards Eamon's and deals with the disappointment of the failed relationship.

The German version, which was noted in the German and Austrian charts, was produced by Stani Djukanovic and Roland Spremberg , who are also behind artists such as No Angels or Blümchen .

Trivia

Anna David took part in the live show Vild med dans (Danish version of Let's Dance ) in 2006 .

In 2009 Anna David starred in a youth series called Store Drømme (Big Dreams). It ran on the national Danish channel TV 2. Anna David played the lead role in this series Kris. In this context, songs like Et andet liv and Mine øjne de Skal se were created .

In February 2011 Anna David took part in a program of the TV channel TV 2 together with the musicians Joker, Szhirley, Lars HUG, Eran DD and Dorthe Kollo , in which they interpret their songs mutually. The show was filmed in Mexico.

She is the younger sister of the German actress Inez Bjørg David and Marika Elena David .
