Jokeren (born June 18, 1973 in Copenhagen - Nørrebro ; real name Jesper Dahl ) is a Danish rapper , screenwriter and music producer .
biography
Early years
Jokeren alias Jesper Dahl grew up in an academic / middle-class family and completed his school career with an HF exam (cf. Fach-Abitur). At the age of 12 he formed the music group Madness For Real with Rasmus Berg, Nicolas Kvaran and Blæs Bukki (member of the Danish hip hop band Malk de Koijn ) .
Career
United States
In 1992 Madness For Real traveled to Los Angeles to make music. There they produced, as free lancers, artists such as Ice Cube , Eazy-E , Rakim and Outlandish , among others . After 4 years in the USA , they returned to Denmark in 1996. The band renamed themselves Den Gale Pose and was very successful in Denmark with their fresh and innovative style.
solo
In 2003 Jokeren released his first solo album Alpha Han . The album received high praise from critics in Denmark, especially for the innovative lyrics. He describes himself as a "rhythmic poet".
Later that year he published the book Storby Stodder , which includes his collected poetry from 1994 to 2003. In 2005 he founded his own record label called Flamingo Records with Universal Music . The record company promotes new talent in the Danish music scene. His second album Gigolo Jesus was released in 2005. In 2006 he made his debut as an actor in the Danish film Fidibus .
