Anna Michelotti PSSC - religious name: Johanna Franziska of the Visitation of Mary (born August 29, 1843 in Annecy , † February 1, 1888 in Turin ) is a French religious and the founder of the Congregation of the Little Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ( Piccole Serve del S . Cuore di Gesù e degli ammalati ), a religious institute under papal law. She is one of the so-called Turin social saints .

Life

Engaged in nursing from the age of twelve, she went to Turin in 1871 . A few years later, Michelotti founded a congregation of sisters there, which she herself joined. It was recognized on August 8, 1875 by the Archbishop of Turin, Lorenzo Gastaldi . The community received the papal decretum laudis on June 3, 1932. The constitutions were finally recognized by the Holy See on January 16, 1940 . The Generalate is in Turin. In 2005 the religious community was active with 158 members in 21 houses in Italy, Madagascar and Romania .

beatification

Pope Paul VI beatified Anna Michelotti on November 1, 1975 . Her feast day is February 1st.
