Anna Tassopoulos
Anna Tassopoulos , married Anna May (born February 17, 1915 in Patras , Greece ; † February 28, 2007 in Cologne ) was a Greek opera singer (soprano).
Life
Tassopoulos studied singing at the National Conservatory of Athens and with Margarethe Funk in Berlin. She made her debut in 1936 at the 1936 German Opera House in Berlin as "Madame Butterfly". She stayed there until 1944 and at the same time was engaged at the Breslau Opera House from 1940 to 1943.
She died in 2007 at the age of 92 and was buried in the grave of her husband Walter May (1914–2002) in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (lit. F).
