Anna Zeiner ( October 3, 1807 in Vienna , Austrian Empire - April 30, 1861 ibid) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

Zeiner, the daughter of the then kk Hoftheatergarderobier, became familiar with theater conditions at the earliest, and no one was surprised that the fresh, bright, talented child was already 14 [!] Years old, on October 12, 1824 as “Gabriele “Debuted in the drama of the same name at the Theater an der Wien. Her undeniable talents also attracted general attention and the young actress celebrated great success in orphan from Geneva , girl from Marienburg , but especially as "Alcinde" in Moisasur's Zauberfluch .

For example, Carl Ludwig Costenoble occasionally mentions a visit to the Theater an der Wien ( art and nature ) in his diary sheets (October 26, 1830 ): Dlle. Zeiner gave the "Aurora" with an insight with such power and truth that I can say that for a long time I have not thought of a woman with so much intelligence . Her achievements did not go unnoticed in the Hofburgtheater either, and Joseph Schreyvogel hurried to win the artist for the German model stage, on which she appeared for the first time as "Nottingham" in Essex on April 18, 1831 , Zeiner worked at this art venue for a full 30 years Years, first as a lover and comedy soubrette ("Lucie" in King Enzio , "Irene" in Belizar , but also "Sappho" were popular achievements of the artist at the time), later (since the beginning of the 1850s) in serious and comical mother and daughter Chaperones.

Her excellent characterization skills and strong acting understanding were praised. This more than usable actress (as she was also sometimes referred to by CL Costenoble) has not been assigned great tragic roles too often, but she knew how to elevate batches and episodes to decisive importance through her piquant play. The very insignificant role of the “economic adviser” in Von Sieben the ugliest was seen as an unparalleled design with a drastic effect. Especially for the subject of witches it was considered a predestined specialty, whereby it effectively supported its highly unfavorable appearance - it was downright strikingly ugly. Even as "Daja" in Nathan , she offered a not insignificant achievement. Her masterful integration into the brilliant ensemble of the Burgtheater, in whose famous interplay she undoubtedly played a major role, was particularly praised.

In the last period of her artistic activity she suffered repeatedly, and in order to be able to take care of herself, she left the stage forever on December 19, 1860 as "Ella Rosa" in Karl Gutzkow 's comedy of the same name. A few months later, on April 30, 1861, the artist passed away.

Remarks

  1. Eisenberg apparently adopted this alleged calculation error from the Wurzbach , because there is also 14 . However, whether 14 is correct, the year of your first appearance ( 1824 ) or the year of birth is incorrect, cannot currently be determined without a birth certificate.
