Annabella is a dark variety of sweet cherries belonging to the heart cherries .

origin

Annabella was bred from the Rube and Allers Späte varieties by the Jork fruit growing research institute in 1953 and brought into cultivation in 1970.

The fruit is medium-sized, teardrop-shaped with a striking fruit seam. When fully ripe, the skin is glossy, dark brown-red, almost black. The medium-firm pulp is dark red with strongly coloring juice. The taste is aromatic and sweet. It has a high burst resistance and ripens in the 4th to 5th cherry week .
