Anne-Laure Bellard

Anne-Laure Bellard (born March 2, 1982 ) is a former French judoka . She won the 2014 Grand Slam tournament in Baku .

Athletic career

Anne-Laure Bellard fought in the middleweight division, the weight class up to 70 kilograms , until 2006 and switched to the light middleweight division in 2007, the weight class up to 63 kilograms. In November 2013, she won the final of the French championships against Morgane Ribout .

At the beginning of 2014 she reached the final at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris and then lost to her compatriot Clarisse Agbegnenou . In May 2014 she reached a Grand Slam final for the second time, in Baku she defeated the Austrian Kathrin Unterwurzacher . At the 2014 World Championships in Chelyabinsk , she won the quarterfinals against Unterwurzacher and lost against Agbegnenou in the semifinals. Then she was defeated in the battle for a bronze medal by the Slovenian Tina Trstenjak and finished in fifth place.
